This thread is for our first book club book The Catcher in the Rye. We can start by making posts here about how we're planning to get the book and when we've got it and in about a weeks times we'll start using this thread as a read-a-long thread meaning you can post reactions here as you read. Things like; 'I'm on page 30 Hagrid is so cool on his flying motor bike ' 'Passed the halfway point, do not get page 333 at all, can anyone explain it to me?' 'Just finished OMG DUMBLEDORE DIES ' ...and then when people are all starting to finish we can have a general discussion on everyone's reading experiences. So yes, for now head to your bookshelves, your book shops and your local libraries and find a copy of The Catcher in the Rye. I think we'll try and begin reading in one week's time (on Thursday the 8th of July), although that can be altered if the general consensus is people need more time to find it. I have read the book before but I'm pretty sure I borrowed it from a library so I'm gonna go out to the library again on Saturday and see if I can lay my hands on a copy.

Can't you order one secondhand off Amazon market place or something?

Is it a Harry Potter spin off? :3 Oh, Ben. I will get my dad to get this from the library, or, if not, the second hand book shop in town.

Going to the library is on my Monday to do list. I need to get a copy of The Catcher in the Rye and also another copy of Uglies as I had to leave the one I was halfway through in Coventry.
