It's nice reading it remembering that Snape was my favourite character And I think noticing those details that she threw in there xP. I'll probably read the rest tonight.

I know that she wanted to portrait snape as the 'evil' one throughout and shock at the end, but I really don't think it comes across like that, I just see him in the wrong place at the wrong time...

To me there was never any question of which side Snape was loyal to...
Also finished it now.

Eni, I've liked all the movies except the fifth one, which made just too many mistakes for me to be liked, it was also the worst movie on it's own regardless of the book. To me there was never any question of which side Snape was loyal to... Also finished it now. Also finished. Being the dedicated fan my sister is, she plans to by a book of essays written after the sixth book discussing which side Snape is loyal to, seems relatively interesting.

^ I think he might be talking about "The Great Snape Debate", but that and the mugglenet one were both very good.

I only found those things after the book was published, but it would be interesting to see where they got their evidence from, and how correct they were in the long run.

Nah, the only fan book I've read is Harry, A History by Melissa Anelli, the webmistress of the Leaky Cauldron.
Just finished. It's so sweet at the end, with them winning the house cup ^___^

^^ Yeah, the House Cup is quite funny in that they don't really care about it in the other books except for this one.
Ad Liam I've also only discovered any of these books once they've become outdated, it'd still be interesting though.

They care in books 2 and 3 don't they? And in the third one they really really care about the Quidditch cup.

Oh yes I think so, I seem to be remembering different limited scenes from each of the books as I'm reading through them again.

I didn't think it was all that bad, tbh. I think they did a fair enough job of condensing such a huge book into (iirc) the shortest film. Although obviously it doesn't do the book justice, but when do films ever? And it always amused me how the whole house points thing was suddenly dropped.

There are alot of films that do the book justice, however generally these books weren't known well as books before becoming films. Started, I've forgotten how good it was, although I do find it abit cliche that Harry's parents were murdered on Halloween, seems like an unnecessary fact and almost trivializes the death, although I'm just picking hairs. Also noticed whilst reading the second one that Nearly Headless Nick's desthday and Colin Creevey (who incidentally is the best character ever) is also petrefied on Halloween.

Did you just say these books weren't known well as books before the films? DISAGREE! Everyone knew Harry Potter, way before the films. People were referring to it as a reading phenomenon. It was the book every child wanted to read and every parent wanted to read to their child. It was definitely well known.
