Has anyone scene the new white covers? Yes, one of my friends has the entire set of them, they're quite nice but I like the old ones more. Also, the fact that the American one is Sorcerer's and not Philosopher's deeply annoys me. Yeah that annoys me too, but otherwise I think the American ones are nicer. I prefer the art and I like the way they have little illustrations at the beginning of each chapter.

Yeah, I have the Prisoner of Azkaban in the American version and all the other ones with the regular version and I quite like the American one more, I don't like however that they've changed some of the words to their American equivalent though.

It has begun, and I totally didn't start early or anything.

It's still the 14th here. I'll begin tomorrow.
I need to get 6 and 7 in American issue. I have all the others.

Started, I've forgotten how good it was, although I do find it abit cliche that Harry's parents were murdered on Halloween, seems like an unnecessary fact and almost trivializes the death, although I'm just picking hairs.

I read it when I was 9, there where no such things as cliches XP
Just read the first chapter, I have Stephen Fry's voice in my head!

Anyone else started? It seems like Rowling usually devotes alot of the book to Harry's time at the Dursley's and getting to Hogwarts, so that the last few chapters are a little bit rushed, because they only really become friends with Hermione at like page 130.

Nope, I still haven't started. Busy with schoolwork and such. Last day of school is tomorrow though, so I'll have plenty of time to read.

Just started reading it about an hour(ish) ago. Harry has just been sorted.
I'm enjoying it but...not as much as when I was younger. Mind you the first time I read this book I wasn't actually that impressed, until I got further in. I remember actually putting it down the first few times I attempted to read it because for some reason I wasn't gripped. Of course it's one of my favourites along with HBP, but it's more like little segments draw me in the rest is just so-so.

I put down Pendragon the first time I read it. I just didn't think that it was for me. Now that I've read it though, it's turned into one of my favorite books.

Plus it's interesting reading it once you've read the other books because you have clearly see Rowling has inserted certain things subtly that will Griffindor, there are a few others that I can't remember off the top of my head.

It seems a lot more ...cartoonish? Reading it now. Detached and young but still very beautifully sculpted. Also yeah, reading it now I just keep awing over every little scene going 'I remember this!'.

^^ Yeah, reading through it brings back memories of when I read it when I was younger and also because the film is so closely adapted to the film, certain scenes from the film come back to mind.

I didn't really like the film though, I don't want scenes to come back to me XP
