Sorry, I think I'm funny.

Not preordered, because I'm holding out in case I either get it for my birthday or if not will buy it with some monies, which I also currently lack. Avoiding spoilers.

Did not even realise what you were talking about until postage on tumblr... now I wants it. But no monies. Bah. Shall initiate "yell at library"... oh wait, will not do this as library is being completely changed and thus will not be putting new books on shelves when less than half are currently available anyway.
Library currently sucks. Shall keep an eye out in charity stores. Do not expect results as...I bet my bookstores won't have it (based on the fact they don't have Criminal or Odd Apocalypse) and if they don't have it the charity stores won't be getting it.

^ Was that the pic of the first page? Because I found that so funny. I really want it.
I'll probably have to wait until Christmas though since I'm poor. I always enjoy reading over the Christmas Holidays anyway, so I'm looking forward to it.

I've read a couple of things about it, apparently there's some really dark themes in there which I'm quite surprised about, I know she said it was an adult book but surely she must have expected and in some way written considering there would be a sizeable younger audience of Harry Potter fans just wanting new JK material.

much too busy at school to get sucked into a book right now. I've barely got time to breathe. Looking forward to reading it during break, though.

Reviews about it are very mixed - I probably wouldn't even pick it up if the author was an unknown, but I really want to read it anyway. I'm actually not surprised - HP was originally going to be written for adults (or so I've heard), and she'll have wanted to break away from the HP vibe. That meant doing something more adult. Despite the dark themes it's probably actually pretty suitable for young teens (if not younger than that).

Has anybody started it yet? I'm thinking of getting it but if it's not that great then I'll borrow it or just not bother

Yes, definite dark themes about how horrible people can be and are. I kinda like it, only read to page 40 though. (You can borrow Sarah if you want)

I definitely want to read this when I have the time, although I think it will be hard to read it as a stand-alone. I feel like there would always be a voice in the back of my head unfairly comparing it to HP. Are you having that issue, Michael?

I saw this in WHSmith.. I sort of flailed, grabbed one held it in my hands and admired it while my mum was like "What" and then had to put it back because I had no money..
I got some looks thats for sure.

I avoid bookshops like the plague...I mean I try to run on the POV that sooner or later these books will end up in a charity store for like £3 (in the most expensive ones). Plus I'd just stand there staring at the books lustfully.
I did once read an entire book in store, dodging the staff, and that was cool for a one time thing. I wouldn't want to make that habit - plus it wasn't exactly heavy reading.

Despite the dark themes it's probably actually pretty suitable for young teens (if not younger than that). I'm not so sure. The language is advanced (some I don't know) and it includes many expletives, and rather rude scenes, I think parents need to think twice before letting a young teen harry potter addict buy it.
