The Last Ark – Ben Portus
If you’re in the mood for a fast paced book (and to be honest, who isn’t?) then look no further than here. Well, a little further actually, just to the end of this review. Like I said; this book is wicked fast with some of the best characters I’ve seen in a long time. Hell, I even bonded with a flatulent bloodhound, so that should give you an idea of how well these people are written in.
~
Sam’s family is normal enough right? His mum’s an important vet at a local zoo and both Sam and his sister Emily try and help out as much as possible. Especially when their mother is kidnapped and the two of them (plus their dog, Hattie) are thrust into a plot the likes of which the world has never seen, at least not for a few thousand years, which could end up with all of them dead… or worse. Wait, what was that last part?
Sam has to step up to the challenge and do whatever he can to save his mum, his sister, the animals and maybe even the world. No pressure.
~
Without giving /too/ much away (trust me, there are some things I want to tell you so bad, but you’ll have to read it and find out for yourself) the twist and turns in this book are amazing, right from the start you find yourself guessing, second guessing and trying to figure out what’s going to happen, only to find your ideas are about as far from the truth as you can get. Funny, fast paced and, in all sense of the word, fantastic. So yeah, go read this now.
(This book is only out on Kindle at the moment, so sorry if you can’t get this)
