I'm surprised, was there really never a thread for this amazing book? I basically wanted to start this thread because I just watched the trailer for the new Gatsby moving coming out this December, and IT LOOKS AMAZING. Anyhow, I really enjoyed this book and I'm very happy I was forced to read this for school because Fitzgerald's writing style was wonderful and a thrill to analyze, and the plot overall was just interesting. As for the trailer... SO. EXCITED. Quite honestly, the 1970s version was a bit of a snooze-fest, and the girl who played Daisy was awful. This version seems really exciting though, and I'm glad the director seems to be taking creative liberties with it. What I just don't want is another repeat of the 1970s version, but it looks like that won't happen Oh, plus Leo Dicaprio and Carey Mulligan? YESPLEASE. I'm definitely am going to be re-reading Gatsby when the winter rolls around...
