I've only seen the movie for this, it's definitely on my reading list though, that list that I'll probably get to when I become bored with time.

Looking at the side comments in this thread, doesn't look like too good a book.

Looking at the side comments in this thread, doesn't look like too good a book. It's a classic book really, and the only reason I read it is because it it's just one of the things you should read. And it's really not that bad. The writing style is older, but obviously that's because it is like 60 years old. Just read it if you have the time! Make up your own mind about it.

Yeah, I don't think it's that badder book, but as will says it's written ages ago.

Looking at the side comments in this thread, doesn't look like too good a book. You should read it or at least watch the movies just to understand the references that other movies/books/tv shows constantly make to it.

I didn't know there was a movie.
I still think this would be really interesting to write again but with girls stranded instead of boys.

^ There are two movies, a 1963 one and a 1990 one, I've only seen the 1963 one which apparently is better.
Girls might be interesting, but it would probably take away some of the barbaric actions that the boys resorted to, probably be interesting as a case study as opposed to a book. It seems girls would probably be more civilized.

Yeah I think girls would lead to less death XP ..saying that I think if the boys had been older and had more experience of civilization maybe the same is true.
I'll need to seek out the movies at some point.

I have heard of this book before, but I have not read it yet. I have considered reading it because well, it's a classic, but I have seen a lot of bad feedback about the book, and the book title sounds stupid to me.
