ITS SUCH AN EPIC BOOK!!! Oh and the drawwwwings <3 ohh the drawings are so lovely. :3 Such beautiful drawings, plus an awesome story.. its just brilliant! I've read Leviathan and Behemoth but I haven't read Goliath yet (i think thats one of the books my mum bought me for christmas but hasn't given me since that would put me over my "allowance" of presents- which keep me and my sister equal so the same amount of money is spent on us..) :3 I recommend everyone reads it.

I read Goliath My feelings towards Goliath: The ending was decent.. The end chapter could have been left out but I was happy all the same. :3 I liked that Alek didn't just suddenly like Deryn, he came to realise it with time. As a guy Dylan was a great friend. But as a girl, Deryn was a great friend who had feelings for him and did anything for him. It was nice that he didn't suddenly like her, because there was always that fear that Alek would be into Dylan rather than Deryn which would have been awkward.. :L)
I was disappointed with the illustrations though i'd hoped for more.. If one with Alek and Deryn kissing more up-close had been put in I would have let it slide.. One like the one with Deryn and Lilit should have been included for the fans. That being said, the illustrations included were still of excellent quality. I did prefer Behemoths illustrations however. Maybe because there were more of the characters...

What's it about, like, in general?

Basically, Europe is split between two different types of "machinery". Some countries called Clankers use very well developed machinery to achieve their aims, whereas the darwinists use animals (a whale that breathes hydrogen to form a plane/ship etc). It's really interesting.

Its effectively an alternate WW1 story, following the story of prince Aleksander, the son of the murdered Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and the story of Deryn, a scottish girl whose dream is to join the Air Force so she can fly. Alek is a Clanker, and Deryn is a Darwinist and you see the story from their various viewpoints. Unrelated to the above explanation, I love the use of the word "bum-rag". Might become an insult I use in future.

I used the phrase "BARKING SPIDERS!" to one of my friends.
She was puzzled yet amused. :L
