I purposefully didn't watch it because I wanted to read it first.

I think I read it. I mean, I got through it, but I'm pretty sure I skimmed through the entire book because I don't remember much about it. I just remember that I thought it was boring... I usually don't like Charles Dickins' books :/ Take Oliver Twist for examples. I. HATE. THAT. BOOK. gargh

I hate Great Expectations. The only good character is Joe and everyone (except Biddy) is a dick to him. And Pip, Pip's just stupid and annoying and rargh. Oh and the twist with the convict? Who didn't see that coming?

Seriously you guys are harsh about this book. Yes most of the characters are pretty mean to Joe but it doesn't make it a bad book. The character of Miss Havisham is great; Dickens introduces her fantastically, revealing details slowly as if we are there noticing things like Pip would be. Pip is quite unlikable in someways but in others not so much. What would you do in his situation? Probably the same...he does slowly change. I truely loved this book and on finishing it I had a warm feeling. There are some long parts, it's Dickens so there is bound to be, however I loved it and it deserves a chance at the least. (I'm new so that's way I'm only posting now...sorry )
