Woody Harrelson is Haymitch. And they've made a load of other choices too, like Cinna, Portia, Thresh, Cato, Snow etc and even Katniss' dad!

Okay, so after stalking the imdb page....
PEOPLE IS TOO OLD *frazzles* I hate when they cast old people to be teenagers. I know it's hard to find teenager actors that are talented enough blah blah blah but it really irritates me >.<
Also, just in general - I don't think it's going to make a good movie :/ The book is very in Katness' head and that's not something you can really translate into film, unless you have obcessive voice over which is just irritating >.<

Omg no from just the picture. Frankie Dettori isn't an actor, but I imagined him from reading THG.

I read these when the first came out. I LOVED the first one, but I felt like they kind of went downhill after that and was really disappointed by the third. I feel like she just kind of popped out the third one real fast because they were suddenly popular and didn't spend as much time actually crafting the story...
P.S. am I the only one who's really amused by the fact that the actress cast as Primrose has the real name Willow?

I HAS MOVIE UPDATE THAT I FOUND ON THE INTERWEBS!
"Life and Style Magazine has an article in their June 20 issue on how the Hunger Games script deviates from the original story.
Here’s the transcript of the article:
After exclusively obtaining the script for The Hunger Games, Life & Style reveals the juicy details of how the story’s been chaned for the big screen.
Hot Friend
The Book: Katniss’ pal Gale Hawthorne is largely absent from the first book because he doesn’t compete in the Hunger Games, an annual stage fight to the death between one teen boy and one teen girl from each district.
The Movie: To give Gale (dreamy Liam Hemsworth a larger role and make the love triangle steamier, he’s often shown anxiously watching Katniss and Peeta on tv.
Symbol
The Book: Katniss receives the gold mockingjay pin – a token that will later define her – from her friend Madge.
The Movie: In the book, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) receives the pin from her mom, who says Katniss late father, “always loved the mockingjays.”
Location
The Book: Katniss is from a place called District 12. Because the story takes place so far in the future, readers are given a little indication of where it’s located.
The Movie: It’s revealed that District 12 have been Aspen, Colo.
Story
The Book: Most of the book is set inside the Arena, where Katniss and Peeta, battle in the Hunger Games.
The Movie: The movie has behind-the-scenes moments set outside the Arena, showcasing the fighter’s mentor, Haymitch (Woody Harrelson)."
.....They cant change where the pin was from, it'll screw it up in later books >.<

^wow "Gale"s role is so significant *eye roll* lame to the third power. (sorry, I just really dislike both Gale and Liam Hemsworth).

I've just read the first book and ahhhh it was soo good! I haven't got the second yet though and am itching to find out what happens with Gale and Peeta. Is this one about Katniss picking who she loves more? I want her to be with Gale

Is this one about Katniss picking who she loves more? I want her to be with Gale Basically, the first half of Catching Fire deals with her conflicting emotions because she's making the sad face since Peeta's basically ignoring her now (this is why she should have just stayed with him), and also not sure about Gale because falling in love with your best friend is both cheesy and cliche ;D (Hehe... clearly, I'm a Katniss/Peeta shipper)
