I only just saw the above, but it was good and your pronounciations and views on Leviathan was awesome. I used to pronounce Leviathan "Lev-EE-AYth-an", but according to my dad the correct pronounciation is "Lev-EYE-ath-an".. and I pronounce Behemoth "Be-hEE-moth" (Be with a short E like the Be in "Beth". I enjoyed your struggles to pronounce them though too. Everyone must say them differently, because when you read words it just.. IS different. (I used to read Eragon as dragon with an E.. so "Eh-RAG-on." Apparently its "Error-gone" (o prounced the geordie way as you probably pronounce it "Eh-rawr". Its ehh-rahh here. ) I will have to read the 2nd book you mentioned it looked interesting! And I only really like illustrations if they have the wow factor like Keith Thompsons in the Leviathan series, or Tony DiTerlizzi in the Spiderwick Chronicles. I never liked the ones in the Tracy Beaker books or the Roald Dahl books. They just never took my fancy personally, and sort of ruined the books in a way as I couldn't just ignore the pictures as I could just skim over words without really reading them (as you said with description.. o3o)

I skip character descriptions that go "and she had blue eyes the colour of crystal and brown hair weaved with golden blonde and freckles across her face, and she was also really pale so that she was quite translucent, and....blah blah blah blah blha" but...
Illustrations = bleh. Mostly. I liked the little ones above the chapters in Redwall.

Yeah, interesting points. I'm normally against illustrations but those three worked well for me, I think it was my age that loved the Roald Dahl books so much, didn't you feel that Madi?
Yes Kai! I'm just like... i don't really care what they look like xD

Not 'messy', just boring

Boring AND messy then xP.
Although my definition of messy is more like "messy writing" or "lazy writing" but a hybrid mix of "mesazy" . It's all like "too disorganised and/or lazy to mix it up a little."
